Welcome to the Praxeum Chronicles live blog! This is waypoint record of both my experiences with the MMORPG, as well as the ongoing story I'm writing, based on my adventures within the game. The story follows two paladins -- Liam mac Roi, of Northshire and Freaja Bloodsun of Silvermoon -- as they find their paths crossing and moving forwards, in their personal quests and in furthering the goals of their respective Orders.

    * Eyes:Deep Blue

   * Hair: Russett Red
    * Height: 6' 4"

    * Occupation: Knight, Paladin.

    * Rank: Lieutenant-Commander
    * Birthplace: Valley of Northshire, Kingdom of Stormwind.
    * Base of Operations: Stormwind City.
    * Affiliation: The Order of the Silver Hand, Brotherhood of Northshire;
            The Order of the Praxeum.

    * Abilities: As a paladin of the highest rank, Liam has a multitude of powerful talents and abilities; judgments, seals and prayers for healing, destroying the undead and causing unmatched retribution against his foes. He carries two singular weapons with him; a two-handed great-sword, and a one-handed warhammer, named Molnirr (a gift from the Dwarf paladin and weapnsmith, Jorgan Ironbar.).

One of the most dedicated and honorable paladins to have ever served the cause of the Light -- first for the Order of the Silver Hand and the Brotherhood of Northshire, and in time for the Order of the Praxeum -- Liam grew from boyhood among a farming family in Northshire, to pursue a career as a knight of Stormwind; serving alongside his childhood friend, Aemer Solarin, who had joined the cause of hte Light as a member of the priesthood.

Although they began their service to Stormwind together, Liam eventually left Aemer to pursue his goal of becoming a marshaled-knight and defender of his people. Aemer sought to wander the world in search of others to follow in his belief of a truly ‘united people of Azeroth’. This would culminate in Aemer founding the Order of the Praxeum (with Liam to become one of its first Knight-Marshals in the future.).

During his service to Stormwind as a knight, Liam would encounter and befriend  many people in his own travels. Chief among them would be the Wildhammer cousins, Rhandall and Hanna Sturmhahn, Kajara Oakenspire, a Night Elf engineer, and Tully Strombar, a blacksmith who lives in the shelter of Ironforge. He also made the acquaitence of a thief named Trissa Twinblades -- after rescuing her from a ‘misunderstanding’ with the constabulary -- as well as an elder paladin named Sabine DeWulfe.

His service to those peoples and kingdoms that lay within the Grand Alliance became a hallmark of his dedication to the Light. His name became synonamous with the highest aspects of his beliefs -- selflessness, dedication to duty and willingness to give aid to all people, be they ally or foe.

Following in the belief that no one faction or race can hold against the threat of the Lich King and his cursed Scourge, Liam works to strengthen ties and alliances between the multitude races of the Alliance and the Horde.

He has a Father, Sister, and several relatives who are currently living, in their home in the valley of Northshire.

The Big Question #1

So, just what is the Praxeum Chronicles?

In short form -- it’s a novel-length story, adapted from the settings, characters and lore that make up the universe of “World of Warcraft”, as well as my own experiences on the various servers/worlds that I play on in-game as I’ve quested and gone up with the levels.

The story grew out of my initial trial-and-error phase of learning how each of the character races and classes worked within the game. When I first started, I was pretty much focused on the usual class/race combinations (Human/warrior, Nelf/hunter, etc.). Yet, as time progressed, I soon realized my comfort zone was with the paladin class, and that became my class of choice.

After all, being able to wear heavy armor and cast healing spells, as well as having the prestige of being a “knight”... no contest, really.

So, after a few months of playing, it was happenstance -- during a quest that dealt with a heavy dose of game lore -- that I decided to see if there were any resources online that could tell me more about the “story” behind Warcraft’s world of Azeroth. This led to the discovery of sites like WoWWiki, that opened up a lot of back story, information and more about the various factions, races and characters that made up the “story” I and millions of other players were taking part in.

The more I read, the more I got inspired to take a crack at writing my own story.

Originally, the story was going to be a humorous, one-shot affair, about a human paladin who find himself the object of affection for a Dwarven warrior maiden. Thankfully, I moved away from the humorous theme and made the story an epic adventure. The dwarven warrior-maid was recycled into a supporting character -- along with a male cousin -- and the second protagonist to play off the human paladin eventually became a blood elf (I’ll explain more about this in a future post. After all, can’t give away the whole store in the first day.).

So, what began as a one-shot, eventually grew longer, and bigger, until . . . I realized I had a much larger story on my hands.

It’s going to take a while before it gets completely told. But, then again, that’s one of the reasons I love to write; it’s the telling, not the finish that makes a good tale.

So, that’s what it’s all about: an adventure, spanning not just continents and zones, but also the journey of the character’s spirit, heart and beliefs. The Praxeum Chronicles looks to be one of those stories that -- when it’s all said and done -- I hope leaves its mark on the world of Azeroth.

With that said, why don’t you take your first look into the journey? Here’s the opening chapter -- The First Chapter of Book One : The Blessed Light.

Enjoy the journey! For the Praxeum!

"...and so, It Begins."

Thank you, JMS, for that singular opening line.

Welcome to the live blog of The Praxeum Chronicles. As the description says, this is a waypoint record for all things related to the ongoing story I'm writing -- based in part on the settings and universe within the MMORPG "World of Warcraft", and also on my experiences within the game itself.

Before we go any further, I should give you a brief breakdown of what you can expect on this blog:

-- Notifications on finished chapters of the Praxeum Chronicles story.
-- Articles revolving around my WoW experiences.
-- Posts for Artwork and other times that have a bearing on the story.
-- Random bits, bobs and ramblings from me as a gamer involved in woW.

I plan to do weekly updates -- usually on Saturdays, as time permits -- but if something comes up, random daily posts won't be that uncommon.

It's my hope that this blog will help to generate interest in the Praxeum's tale, as well as help to further support for Blizzard's game and all of their creations.

I hope everyone enjoys the ride! Look forward to hearing from all of my future followers and commentators!
